ClassDojo
As a school we use Class Dojo as a way of communicating with you. We have a whole school page and each class has their own page which is updated by staff on a weekly basis. You will be given an invitation to sign up to Class Dojo and will be given access to your child’s class page as well as the whole school page.
As a school we encourage the children to demonstrate their positive skills and values and reward the children for demonstrating these by awarding them Dojo points. These will be awarded for showing our learning powers – being curious, being co-operative, concentrating, persevering, enjoying learning, being resilient and using your imagination.
If you join Class Dojo you can see when your child has been awarded a Dojo point. Every time your child collects 50 Dojo points there will be a reward. Dojos are very special and will only be given for going above and beyond what is expected of the children.
We also rely on Dojo to communicate with one another: instantly sharing messages, updates, events, and photos from class. It’s simple, secure, and gives you a window into your child’s school day! You will have seen what the children have been doing before you even pick them up…. Which will mean no more “nothing” answers when you have asked what did you do at school today?
Parents with ClassDojo accounts can see Class Story and School Story (all of your classroom and school photos and announcements.) This means you do not have to worry about your child losing an important letter or forgetting a bake sale as it will be updated regularly.
You can use Dojo on any device: it’s a simple, free mobile app for iOS and Android, and can also be accessed from your computer at classdojo.com. At the start of each year you will be invited to join your child’s class and then you are connected. Easy as that!
